Just a few minutes ago I was watching a meeting about the community center on Ch,15.

The paid consultant claims that even with the arena portion being eliminated, in other words no more stock show (the biggest event), and no more rodeos or circuses , that the city will actually make more.

Uhh excuse me, you propose to eliminate the largest event that the community center is the location for, not to mention some other events, and that will actually increase revenue?

So where will the Stock show go to? Back to the exhibit barn in the park? Wrong it's not there anymore.

The city has lots of land behind the current community center, where all the fireworks get shot off every 4th of July.

Instead of granting the visitor and tourist department $750,000 for advertising, why does the city not save a rather large portion of the Hotel tax for a few years and build a larger center behind the current community center?

I am sure they will follow the $36,000 consultants advice and and eliminate the top customer from the current community center.

Does anyone but me think that this is a very bad idea?
