I am the editor of the Matagorda Advocate, the weekly paper in Bay City owned by the Victoria Advocate. For those of you who don't know, we are published every Thursday and we cover all of Matagorda County.

If you want to follow my blog, click here and it will direct you to my Matagorda Advocate blog, which I try to update as much as I can.

Don't forgot to read our articles too!

But back to what I really wanted to say, I'm thrilled my article made the front page of the Victoria Advocate today. Daily reporters are used to the feeling of seeing their stories there, just like I am when I see my stories in the front page of a weekly.

But it is also bittersweet, because I am also sad about it. A family has lived not knowing where their son was for 38 years. They had the hope that he would be found alive.

Every time I write an article, my hope is that the reader will read the whole article in its entirely and leave with a feeling of understanding. My hope is that I myself is satisfied with what I have written.

It was an honor speaking to his mother and I have to say she has been so strong through it all.

Through the interviews I had with her over the phone, I sometimes found it difficult to ask her some of questions because I knew it would bring her sadness.

But she was open and sincere and I hope that I was able to transcribe her feelings through this story.

Until next time, thanks for reading.
