Nope, the search for a wedding dress is not for me. It is for my sister. She is getting married and I am the maid of honor. She has been with Homer for about six years, so it was no surprise when he proposed to her on New Years.

I had spent a lonely New Years night in Bay City and got a call from her a few minutes into the new year. He proposed to her right as the clock struck midnight, the new year. He got down on one knee and opened the box where the ring should have been. Sister realized the ring was not in box and quickly got down on the floor, afraid it had fallen off. After all, they were in a crowded place. But he quickly informed her, knowing he couldn't pick the perfect ring and that she would be indeed be picky, proposed marriage, but gave her the chance to pick the ring she loved.

Fast forward to today. I am in Fort Worth for an assignment, but I also took the chance to come wedding dress shopping with her.

My sister and I are complete opposites when it comes to shopping. I am the type to go inside a store, look around and if I like I will buy two or three of the same (different colors of course) she loves to take her time. So it was a surprise that her wedding dress, she found within three hours of our shopping voyage.

I also realized today that my duties of maid of honor have kicked in full gear.

It is my turn now to look for that perfect dress. What will I pick? Where will I go?

Only time will tell, well at least on or before August 28, the day of her wedding.
