Image Today I heard a song I had not heard in quite a while, the Moody Blues' "Your Wildest Dreams", from their 1986 album, The Other Side of Life. Fellow blogger Kelli made reference a few days ago to the way a certain song can take you back to a specific place and time, and she is so right! The Moody Blues music spans many decades, and those of us who thought they would be through after the seventies were badly underestimating them. They are one of the few bands whose music changes with the times but yet has the ability to remain timeless. Any lover of sixties and seventies music likely has the Moody Blues' most classic albums, such as A Question of Balance, Days of Future Passed (my personal favorite), In Search of the Lost Chord, On The Threshold of a Dream, and Long Distance Voyager. Justin Hayward and co. produced such a unique sound, and enthralled audiences with their live performances. Hayward made quite a bit of solo stuff as well, a particular favorite of mine being "Forever Autumn", released in 1978. That is another song that takes me back. The people and places in one's life are quite often defined by the music present at the time, and "Your Wildest Dreams" will forever be associated with a certain person for me, and with my college days. I also recommend a listen to "Talking Out Of Turn", from their 1981 album, Long Distance Voyager. Anyone out there with music memories they would like to share?
