Truthfully, now, does this lady look like she's about to hit the BIG 5-0 this week? And is a mother of three sons and two (very rambunctious) grandsons?

This is my Aunt Debbie, or just Debbo. She is not only a mother, but a wife, sister, daughter, past Boy Scout den mother, pie baker, happy-maker and organizer extraordinaire! When I was in my  pre-tweens, and she in her teens, I so idolized her, from her hair to the way she talked and the way she dressed - even the music she listened to. I even tried to make a nickname for myself of "Deb" but it didn't go over too well. Can't blame a girl for trying. She once gave me a record (a 45, mind you) of a group whose name has been worn off the label with time and of which I have no clue, and I still listen to that record to this day. It's pretty groovy, just like her.

She married fairly young, but the marriage still lasts today. My uncle Jack is the best uncle a gal could wish for, a smart, energetic, understanding (especially when I was a rotten younger child!) fun-loving man, particularly well-suited for my aunt, I think. Nice to have a paramedic in the family, too! At least he can keep up with my aunt, and that's saying something!

Happy, happy birthday, Aunt Debbo! My wish for your birthday (and this is a bit selfish on my part) is to have you around for another 50. May God continue to bless you, especially during our next poker game, cause birthday or no birthday, YOU'RE GOIN' DOWN! Luv ya, Debbo.
