In case you were wondering about the political signs, there is an election coming up. Actually there are several elections coming up.

The first two are the Democratic Primary and Republican Primary elections to be held March 2nd. Early Voting in Person begins on Tuesday, February 16th. The Elections Office will be open from 8 am to 5 pm all week. We are located at 111 N. Glass in downtown Victoria.

Any registered voter in Victoria County may vote during early voting. You should bring your voter registration certificate or some form of identification. The new voter's registration certificate for 2010-2011 is blue. Certificates were mailed last November. If you don't have your certificate you may still vote with identification. The most common means of identifying yourself is a Texas Driver's License or Texas Identification Card.

Early Voting will continue on Saturday, February 20th from 9 am to 5 pm. It will also continue Monday through Friday, February 22nd through February 26th, being open from 8 am to 5 pm on Monday through Wednesday and 7 am to 7 pm on Thursday and Friday.

An additional early voting polling location will be the Patti Dodson Health Center located at 2805 N. Navarro in Classroom A. The Health Center will be open only on Friday and Saturday, February 19th and 20th and Thursday and Friday, February 25th and 26th. Hours of operation will be the same as for the Elections Office.
