It is not often you get to vote twice in one month but in May 2012 that is just what you may do, legally.

There is the old joke about voting early and voting often. Most of the time it is a joke aimed at those people from Chicago where voting is sometimes considered an art. In Texas we don't usually let you vote early and often but this is a strange election year.

The 2012 Primary is set for May 29th. This will be a Tuesday election. On Election Day all thirty-five election precinct polling locations will be open. There are a few new polling locations for precincts; 5, 6, 9, & 31. Precinct 5 will vote at Crain Elementary on Azalea. Precinct 6 votes at Family Worship Center on Sam Houston. Precinct 9 votes at the National Guard Armory on Mockingbird. Precinct 31 votes at the Tanglewood Clubhouse on Rosewood.

Primary elections are held by the Republican and Democratic parties. Each party is selecting its nominee to represent the party in the general election in November. The parties are protective of this nominating process and Texas is a closed primary state. A closed primary means no one is allowed to vote in the other party's primary election or participate in the other party's conventions or meetings.
