Early Voting in Person for the November 5, 2013 Constitutional Amendment Election begins Monday, October 21st. Hours of operation will be 8 am to 5 pm weekdays until Friday, November 1st. Early Voting will be in the Pattie Dodson Public Health Center, Classroom A. Follow the Health Center's flags to the center entrance of the facility and enter early voting through the center hallway.
All voters will be required to present a Photo ID to vote in the election. The acceptable forms of photo identification are;
Texas Driver's License Texas Personal Identification Card Texas Election Identification Card Texas Concealed Handgun Permit U.S. Military ID's Department of Defense Common Access Cards U.S. Passport U.S. Certificate of Citizenship
All identifications must have a photograph of the person coming to vote. All identifications must be current or if expired, may not have expired more than 60 days prior to the election.
This year we are trying something new for early voting. We will open from 7 am to 7 pm on both Friday's of early voting in person. Normally it has been only the last two days but we thought this might give working people a little different opportunity. So voting will be weekdays from 8 am to 5 pm with Friday's being from 7 am to 7 pm.
In Victoria County the only thing on our ballot is the nine propositions passed by the 83rd Texas Legislature asking for voter approval of changes to the Texas Constitution.
Early Voting by Mail is available to those who qualify. Voters by mail are not required in most circumstances to provide photo identification. Besides being a registered voter you must meet one or more of the following qualifications.
65 years of age or older a disability which prevents you from going to the polling place confined in jail absent from the county during early voting in person and on election day.
