Our next election is the Constitutional Amendment Election to be held on Tuesday, November 5, 2013. On the ballot will be nine propositions to alter the State Constitution. As with each election if you need to register you must do so thirty days prior to the election. That date would normally be October 5th but because the 5th falls on a weekend the registration deadline is extended to the next business day.

Monday, October 7, 2013 is the last day to file a new application to register to vote. It is also the last day you may make changes to your registration to correct information or update information such as a new residence or new mailing address. Registrations and changes to registration data is accepted at any time. For those changes to be effective for a specific election they must be made thirty days prior to the election.

If you are already registered in Victoria County you may go to and update your registration information. You may also check to see if you are already a registered voter.

If you have changed your residence since you last registered you should update your voter registration prior to the next election. If you moved from one county to another your registration will no longer be effective in the previous county.

The new Photo ID law requires the name on the Photo ID match the name on the Official List of Registered Voters. You may check this by comparing your name on the Photo ID and your name on the Voter Registration Certificate. If the names are different you still have time to make the change for the November election. Turn your voter registration certificate to the back side, print the correct name as it appears on your Photo ID, sign the change authorization and mail the card to Voter Registrar, 2805 N. Navarro, Suite 500, Victoria, Texas 77901-3947. You may also come into the office to make the change in person or go to the website.

If you need additional information about registration status please feel free to contact the Elections Office at 576-0124 or by email at
