I received a call today from a local businesswoman who owns land off U.S. Highway 59 South as it heads to Goliad. She called upset that incumbents and would-be politicians place signs on her 40 acres and near the highway -- often without first receiving her approval.
I started work today on a story that publishes Wednesday. I want to know what are the laws regarding political signs. I also want to learn what private property owners should know and what they can do if, as in the case of this woman, signs continue to appear even after she's asked for campaigners to stop.
Have you had, without your permission, a political sign planted in your yard?
What questions do you want answered in my story?
Thanks for your help,

I think political signs are an eye sore to the community.
Note to self: Make your own political sign that reads:
February 22, 2010 at 11:09 p.m.POLITICAL SIGNS ARE AN EYE SOAR.
VOTE FOR NO ONE!
Hey, I thought I knew all the people who had signs around town, but caught a glimpse of a new one today. On the corner by Ashley furniture. Didn't say what party or what office, just had "Bonsai" on the sign. Guess he's a write-in. ;)
