History almost repeated itself Tuesday...almost. When the thermometer in Victoria topped out at 99 degrees shortly after 3 p.m., the temperature barely fell short of tying the record high for June 5. A record of 100 degrees set just last year. You remember last year's heat, right? -- Twenty-five consecutive days of 100 degrees or hotter, 57 total days of 100 degree or hotter, 15 days with record highs for that date, the fifth hottest day on record (109 on Aug. 28), You remember. The forecast calls for a high of 96 today, but it was only supposed to get to 94 yesterday. Last year's 101 on June 6 set a record. I'll be watching the thermometer. Will this be our first 100 degree day?
