this blog goes out to the person who hit our beloved family pet baby-girl. since you failed to stop to see who or what you hit i would like to tell you a little bit about this dog. she was short, black and had a heart of gold. she came to us a few years back, she was running with a pack of dogs in a busy intersection we watched in fear hoping that they would make it through all the cars whizzing by. my niece at the time was about 5 said please dogs get out of the road. one small dog stopped and made her way to where my niece was standing and the love affair was started. this little dog followed us in the house we gave her water and food and she followed my niece around everywhere. she was not our dog to keep so we put an add in the paper to find her owner and put her in the front yard and left the gate open in case the dog chose to leave on her own. needless to say no owner came forward. we didn't need another dog but another dog chose us. she became a great joy to all the members of the family. in the last few years she became very attached to my nephew and they where inseparable. she slept with him and went for walks and waited at the door for him to get off work.. she loved to chase a cat or two but loved them when they would lick her ears. she loved to chase mice but would lick and try to nurse newborn hamsters. baby-girl loved good gossip, when nobody was talking she was content to sleep at the foot of the bed or back of the couch, but when she knew people where talking she would be right in the middle listening to every word wanting to put her two cents in. she loved all cats, all dogs, and all babies and her life. but that was all taken away last night by a careless driver. she will be missed dearly and for a long time. she was just a small black dog with a heart of gold who would have forgiven you for hitting her but i am just a human and i can't do that. maybe in time i will forgive but i won't forget. you will probably never see this but for my peace of mind i had to tell the story of this little black dog.
