With Glenn Beck getting credit for Van Jones resigning, Keith Olbermann is now asking Daily Kos readers to find out anything they can about the Fox host and others associated with him. Tuesday we will expand this to the television audience and have a dedicated email address to accept leads, tips, contacts, on Beck, his radio producer [Stu] Burguiere, and the chief of his tv enablers, [Roger] Ailes (even though Ailes' power was desperately undercut when he failed to pull off his phony "truce" push). Olbermann said this action will help "save this nation from the Oligarhy of The Stupid." Since going up yesterday, Olbermann's diary entry had over 1,400 responses by this morning.

Didn't Olbermann have a news show at one time?. He is so irrelevant now. Surprised to see how far he has fallen in such a short time. Can’t KO find his own sources? He has to run to the daily kos-titution for help

are we talking about "color of change" van jones?
lol.
September 8, 2009 at 5:36 p.m.Worst example of sour grapes I believe I ever heard.
I'm with you Ari turn that loud mouth foul mouth dude loose. With Obama's friend like that who needs enemies. Ari calls it a "vile and vicious smear campaign" But just as mike,Vvet,LilJ,speechfree and associates are all great at talking the talk about Beck, never a denial of what he says.
Huffington Post
Arianna Huffington: Thank You, Glenn Beck!
Thank you, Glenn Beck. By helping force the resignation of Van Jones, you have done a great service to your country. But in the exact opposite way than you intended. Your vile and vicious smear campaign has helped reverse one of the worst examples of miscasting since John Wayne took on the role of Genghis Khan in The Conqueror. Don't get me wrong: Van Jones was the best person for the job he just gave up. But the job was not the best use of Van Jones. Van is a truly gifted speaker who knows how to use words to move people to action. To stick him behind a desk with a sock in his mouth was a major waste. Now, thanks to Beck, he is freed to do what he does best: inspire and educate and energize people all across America.
" Van is a truly gifted speaker"
Example I am a communist
September 8, 2009 at 4:10 p.m.Last November, I observed that we are going to see if this country can survive another four years of Jimmy Carter. Nothing I have seen since has led me to change that opinion.
September 8, 2009 at 3:18 p.m.Gyroscope to promote and support a bias website as a source for the truth fails to provide a reasonable conclusion for your blog. It amazes me when anyone gives so much power to Glenn Beck or Fox or anyone, to be able to influcence the actions of the President. I contend that Keith Olbermann and many other talk show host see Glenn Beck as a threat. And most major broadcast news stations see Fox killing them in ratings and sponsers. I contend it is not only the conservatives that are opposing President Obama, but the independents. Our founding fathers feared big government and the power of a central leader, that is why they tried to limit the power. President Obama has and continues to grab as much power as he can. I will support Congress in stop paying the salaries of all the Czars until they have approved the appointments.

The resignation early Sunday of “green jobs” adviser Van Jones says as much about the Obama White House as it does about Jones – marking the latest sacrifice to the political gods after a long summer of compromises and surrenders highlighted the limits of White House power.
The departure – nominally the choice of a still-defiant Jones, who said he feared distracting from important business – confirmed Obama’s choice of pragmatism over confrontation and a belief that controversies sometimes are better solved by capitulation, a view that infuriates Obama’s allies on the left.
It confirmed that the real opposition party to Obama right now is the conservative grassroots that draws its energy from Fox News, talk radio and the Drudge Report, and often leaves Republican elected officials scrambling to catch up.
And it was a fresh reminder that the White House’s vetting process didn’t fall down only on high-profile nominees like Tom Daschle. It barely touched the lower reaches of the administration – a White House official conceded Sunday that Jones’ past statements weren’t as thoroughly scrubbed due to his relatively low rank. Jones’ selection also was propelled by powerful patrons, who included the first lady and the vice president.

Beck is no more a goner than the rest of the Liberal or Conservative mouthpieces.......they sell products. Fact is, good, bad or ugly, he did a public service by getting a crazy as a sh1thouse rat, radical off the public stage and un-appointed to what essentially was a non-frickin' position anyway. Obama is just playing wheel of misfortune, trying get his homeboys a spot in a "to the victors belong the spoils" administration. He hasn't a clue as to the vetting proces, or as to even what of these bullsh1t appointments are actually even relevant "jobs". He is proving that he was a speech maker(note I did not say speechwriter) and not in the loosest definition of the word, a leader. He needs to tighten his act up post haste, or he is a lame duck with 90% of his first term yet to "play" out.
September 7, 2009 at 9:36 p.m.Zorro, the problem comes when you fail to refute what he says. Sitting back typing up cute quips sounds pretty empty when you fail to refute what he reports.
September 7, 2009 at 9:20 p.m.Very true, but I think Cap and Trade if passed, will be the straw that breaks the camels back, pun intended.
September 7, 2009 at 7:29 p.m.I wish I could be as optimistic as you about "health care reform." This will be a huge government take over of a large portion of our economy. Their track record is abysmal in this regard.
Once enacted there will be no turning back. There are dozens of other things that could be done to make the system better. No it will not be perfect, no change will be, some will be worse than others. Let's try to pick the best one's rather than bull rush this thing.
September 7, 2009 at 6:46 p.m.Cap and trade is the elephant in the room if you ask me.
Health Care, or Health Insurance reform, depending on which phrase the President uses in a speech, will not be as devastating to the country as the Cap and Trade legislation will be. IMO
Rumor has it, that Cap and Trade will manage to produce another type of derivative trading.
IE: Investors that have absolutely no investment in the energy sector buying and selling Carbon Credits, driving up the price for actual energy producers while taking a cut of the profits for themselves, resulting in even higher prices for petroleum products and electric providers that generate power using oil, natural gas or coal.
Not to mention refineries who supply or gasoline and diesel, which means that every consumer product will also increase in price, be it food, clothing ect.
Everything is shipped either by rail, truck, barge or ship, and you don't honestly think any company is going to absorb the increase in shipping costs do you?
All of which are powered by fuel that will be subject to Cap and Trade Carbon Credits.
September 7, 2009 at 6:32 p.m.Great ideas? Surely you are not referring to Cap and Trade, Card Check, Universal Health Care, etc. These are stupid ideas that are going to impoverish everyone except the very wealthy and our entrenched politicians - wake up man!!
September 7, 2009 at 5:46 p.m.Albert Einstein surely was speaking about the people who watch Glenn Beck and Fox News when he said "Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe." Einstein also noted that "Great ideas often receive violent opposition from mediocre minds."
September 7, 2009 at 5:06 p.m.Pre Massive Ego Olbermann was fun to watch on Sportscenter.
September 7, 2009 at 4:05 p.m.Glenn Beck has continously invited the White House to refute the findings he has made about the Administration. To my knowledge, the White House has never responded.
September 7, 2009 at 3:51 p.m.Brubaker is better than Olbermann.
September 7, 2009 at 3:17 p.m.Olbermann was dropped on his head as a baby.
September 7, 2009 at 3:15 p.m.Sportscenter is better off since he left.
