Evidently from all I've read here on the VA comments section we should be thankful that we just got rid of the anti-christ. I mean evidently she used to troll the hallways looking for souls to feed on and virgins to sacrifice to Lucifer.

I don't see why many of the new sophomores and new freshman act like they know who DJ is; they haven't had the experience of the practices and all the drama that the team went through...they need to stop acting like little babies and get over it bcuz they have no idea what's going on; only the girls that were on the team these past two years should know not the new comers....I know what was going on bcuz I was on the team and would always come home in a bad mood bcuz ethier there was drama or something just went wrong...so yea i think it was good for DJ to not be the dance instuctor anymore...its pointless anyways to even try to get her back when they know shes not going to go back so they just need to drop it and move on with their lives and DJ just needs to retire and forget about it shes had her time to shine now give the light to someone else...so all those girls who are crying need to stop bcuz they have no idea what the whole reassignment is about....

Anyone who says this whole situation is about kids not getting to be the Major of the drill team is a liar. This is a lie that has been spread to try to deflect attention form the real issues. Leave the kids out of it!

yes we may stay practicing late we worked very hard but we still had time for our studies dances are built in chunks and during the chunk ur not in u can be sitting down on the side doing ur work trust me i did that for four years so we have planty of time and dj always encouraged that and for you to connect our dancing w/ that of an exoctic dancer is disgusting and many girls have grown up to be coaches or work for great dance companies such as Briana chapa,taylor johnston,and Lacey Stakbaurer and dancing on this team can also open many scholorship doors for college

So you will throw a child under the bus? As a parent of one of those children who was 1st senior captain you are way off base with your accusations. This was never about her being major she never wanted major to begin with but as a returning junior officer she was required by the former director, to tryout for major.

Whoever says this is all about Major of drill team is a bald faced liar.

The fact that this lie would be spread to the drill team should also be looked into by VISD as I have a pretty good idea where it began.

So I would appreciate it if you left my child out of this. You got questions ask me. You got issues address me. I have posted plenty of truths throughout these blogs that can be based on fact alone, not opinion and emotion.

This all started when adults, not students, asked other adults, not students, questions about fundraising practices, fiscal responsibility and accountability and bringing up issues that violated district bylaws and other rules.

If you want to be angry, direct your anger towards those who cannot follow rules and do things properly. Not at those who simply pointed out these errors.

But I guess Responsibility can only be preached about not practiced.

I could be in the drill team,I could not be. That isnt the point.
The point is when everyone goes about contradicting an organization that has changed so much from the days of selling go goo's to todays top fundraisers, it is truly ridiculous.

Oh contrair mon frair... I do know. My sister was on the team back in the day. They weren't as fancy as they have become, their big fundraiser was selling Goo Goos. I also know DJ & her daughter, I am very fond of her daughter & I don't like to see people throwing her under the bus. She was a very sweet girl when I knew her.

What I find amusing & what makes me get out my sharp stick, is you parents posting all this BS about nothing being smelly. Facts mean nothing to you people because you wish not to see them. You are too busy living vicariously through your children, to their detriment. You obviously never made the cut back in the day & now you think it is your time to shine, through your kid. To Anyone curious in the matter.
If you want to support an individual dance member, that money is soley donated to that individual girls account to help offset expenses for things such as camps, friday uniforms, shoes, etc.
When donating to the Team as a whole, that money now goes straigh into the dance team account which is run by the visd financial department.
The dance team has always tried to get the support from visd to help pay for competition expenses etc. but never got any help with the expenses.
Up until this past year, Drill team, band, and Cheerleaders had to pay for the charter buses up to the games when the other organizations never had to pay a cent for them. yes they were charter buses and they could have easily taken the yellow dogs, but how is that fair when all other athletics get their buses paid for by the district.
Drill team does spend alot of money, i know first hand the cost can be alot, but that is why they do certain fundraisers and acquire individual sponsers, to help offset the cost.

Along with many other high school organizations, the dance team teaches so many life lessons. I personally know From experience!
Its sad to have to see these girls go through this. all they want is to dance and have a good 4 years in high school and with horrible things said about that team everyday, makes it very hard for them.
I promise, The Legacy Dance Team will continue to strive and continue in their tradition of excellence!

um yes jackdeuce the community has done stuff to dj...maybe not everyone in the communtity but alot....people have been practically harassing and slandering her for many years most in jealousy and most just plain hatred....that was just a general statement durrrrr!!!

Well based on all these posts, I'm having trouble trying to figure out why this booster club failed to run smooth as glass. It's like a room full of 3rd graders with no supervision fighting over the last piece of candy. Well let me be the first to congratulate each of you for doing your best to make the West school look absolutely disgraceful. You can all blame whoever you want, just take it offline.

Grow up, shut up, and try to let the wheels of VISD justice take care of all this. If anything wrong was done then let the penalty fit the crime. If not, then everything should return to something closer to normal.
