This was a good Rusty week. A) #1. Prior to a job interview Wednesday afternoon was #2. a great lunch with one of my heroes. Since his crowing about the food quality at Mumphford's Place got my slobberin' motor runnin' at about 5 grand(5,000 rpm)I guess it was only fair for him to foot the bill. It was a long anticipated event to meet, and #3. dine with the original VICAD blogger, The Grey Beard Loon, Pat Hathcock, at the famed BBQ palace. No argument with his claims ref.the grub.
B.) A crew at Custom Tinting tackled the rain water intrusion beneath the bed cover on my truck. Last night's rain should've been a good test. Will have to check.
C) At an EMMAUS covered dish supper event last night, the seat on Rusty's walker was piled too high for all the grub and drink containers for an uneventful trip to a table. A thoughtful young man named Walter Spence asked, "Sir, do you need some help?" He was gladly handed a dessert saucer with rapidly melting BLUE BELL trying to spill off one side. He was there with an aunt and uncle, maybe named Smith?
D) Shopping too long at Wal-Mart allowed the downpour to start prior to my checkout. W-M employee Chris Beardon hustled the cart out to my truck and unloaded it while acquiring his drowned rat look. You know, it just hit me that a tip was never was thought of until right now. Drat it. Sure saved the Old Bucket from getting any Rustier.

Mumphford's barbecue....mmmmmm
August 22, 2009 at 7:48 p.m.Hey Rusty...there was a really sweet employee at Walmart that went out of his way to help me with some information on a saltwater pump for our grandson's pool. He actually was full of great (true) information and that was verified when I researched a little more on the internet. I too thought about how I should have went back and tipped him or at least brought it to the attention of his store manager. He took the time to help me (while he was suppose to be stocking) and did with such patience and all the while being paid the same as some others that in my past experience have such "attitudes". (Not just Walmart) I haven't seen him since but I'm always looking. Being kind seems to be such a thing of the past anymore....
As to "D", better lat than never. If you run across this gentleman again, be sure to compensate him at that time. After all, good service is hard to find.
May your week next week be as blessed, maybe even a cup o' joe with a friend......
