Rusty was yelpin' about the terrible odor anytime the vacuum sweeper was runnin'. "Grandmaw" finally said, "If you'd pick up all those cucarachas instead of suckin' 'em up that wouldn't happen." Did she know what she was talkin' about?

  • THANKS SHUG: Just to test it out it out the vacuuming was started one day and resumed 2 or 3 days later. Can even taste it in my coffee cup. Did change the bag promptly before stowing in the heater closet.

  • Rusty - if you are indeed vacuuming up roaches, or any other bug, and if the bag and/or canister (don't know if you have a bag or bagless)isn't emptied after each vacuuming, there can indeed be lingering odors. Make sure you empty your vacuum after you are finished; get a new hepa filter if yours is no longer filtering properly (it will look very dirty, if yours has a hepa filter), and try some baking soda in your bag/canister at the start of each vacuum or bag change. They also make good-smelling sachets you can put in bag/canister, and they are very cheap. Just as cheap - try a few sticks of whole cinnamon and/or cloves in the bag/canister. Hope this helps.
