  • Hicktoria, thanks for the info. I wasn't aware they could be that low in price. I'll keep it in mind should my laptop ever need a new keyboard.

  • You can replace the keyboard on a laptop. Search on ebay for make and model of your computer. They usually run around 15 bucks. Easy to change as well. I do them all of the time...

  • Rusty, you can try getting some canned air (for dusting electronics) and using short sprays in the cracks aroud the "Q" key to see if anything is jarred loose by the air. There may just be something in the keyboard of the laptop.

Alternatively, lthough not really recommended, you can just turn off the laptop, keep it open, and turn the keyboard portion on it's side and LIGHTY tap it on a hard flat surface just to see if anything is jarred loose from underneath the keys. If there's something underneath, a straightened paper clip run through the cracks might let you get it out if air flow or light tapping doesn't get it out.

If those don't work, well, then I hope your laptop is under warranty still because you might have to send it off to get the keyboard portion replaced. If it's not under warrenty, I'm not
too sure on anyone that knows how to repair laptops around here.
