There are so many complexities to be worked out by October for the mutual benefit of everybody that that target is too unrealistic. There are too many factors to consider. The big rush will be as disastrous as ramming the "kiss all your buddies' butts with no accounting" STRANGLE US crap through. Where is there any FREEDOM for anybody besides the rich?

Coolgranny...I feel your pain. Sadly, if anyone wants a sneak preview of government run healthcare, all they need to do is look at the way the VA does business. Very, very sad!
June 15, 2009 at 3:43 p.m.This stuff scares me to death. Hub and I both have health issues that can kill or seriously disable us in the next two decades. I need my doctors when I need them, not when the government says I can have them. I agree that everyone should have some kind of coverage, but how about the government subsidizing only the accounts of those who truly have no insurance options. My sister's significant other is a nice guy who could use this subsidy. There are also lots of minimum wage earners and disabled people who could benefit from government intervention. Maybe government intervention could force sterilization of men who produce babies out of wedlock, or allow only one baby to unwed moms who have learned that the system can be manipulated. Maybe, I have pricked the ears of those who really want the government in control. Just 2 examples of extremes. I need to take a chill pill, literally.
