The only time I ever heard this saying, it was attributed to east Texas. #1 Can someone enlighten me please? Have any of you ever heard it? In what context? #2.Where does the name BLACKSTRAP molasses come from?
3. Did you ever suffer the "cure" for something by being dosed with "sulfur 'n molasses"?
4 Did the old folks ever give you a few drops of "coal oil" (ever guess that was?) in a spoonful of sugar to stop a cough??
5. Ever have horehound candy? What for?
6. Ever Vicks salve rubbed on your chest and have that area covered with a hot rag?
7. Ever had a tent made of blankets or newspapers over your bed so steam from a tea kettle could "loosen up" your head and chest congestion?
8. What did y'all call the mineral deposit that formed in the bottom of a tea kettle?
