YARD SIGN: This sign has a big arrow pointing next door and says:

My Next Door Neighbor Wants to BAN ALL GUNS. HIS HOUSE IS NOT ARMED, OUT of RESPECT for their opinions I PROMISE not to use MY GUNS to protect them.

How do YOU feel about this?

  • Saw on the news this morning a lady put a sign in her yard that said something to the effect if you kill my cats, I'll hit your kids. She said that a couple of her cats had been hit by cars. She stated she looks out for her neighbors kids but they don't try not to hit her cats. I found her sign amusing.

  • I'm gonna guess that a neighbor has harassed another neighbor one about having guns.

  • My opinion, two words: No class.

  • Neighbor should put up a sign with the arrow pointing to said neighbor that reads "He works from 9 to 5, Monday to Friday. He's got something you want - and I won't be using my telephone to call the cops to stop you."
That way, they are on equal levels of maturity.

  • Who would put a sign like that in their yard?

  • I am always locked and loaded when hub is out of town. Mighty dog has eased my mind some. The icemaker can go off and she's ready to defend, all three pounds of her.

  • Hmmm, well I guess the neighbor that wants to ban guns is being called out to not only talk the talk but walk the walk.

IF the neighbor is so anti-gun then he shouldn't have a problem with the sign, after all won't all the criminals be lined up 10 deep to turn in there guns or register them when they are required to?

Now that is a fairy tale if I ever heard one.

  • Very funny....I am at a cross with the whole gun issues. So, I probably wont comment on that particular thing. But, it is freedom of speech and they have a right to write and say anything thing they want as long as its not illegal and profane. Geeezzzz..... Poor neighbors....you know they have to be embarrassed.

  • That made me laugh a bit!

Seriously, I don't like guns being so readily available to anyone, but I feel it's unfortunate that there are situations in the world we live in where a gun could save a life, especially when it hurts or ends another life. I'm not for banning guns completely, but I'm not for them being so readily available to someone with the intent or capability of using it to harm someone else.

This particular sign could be dangerous. After all, it's advertising that a particular place doesn't have what some criminals would find as a deterrant. It's also saying, although maybe a bit jokingly, that less people the advertised place don't care enough to step in and try to stop them. Someone could take it as an invitation to rob or murder whoever lives there.

That's how I see it, but for the sake of sarcasm and irony, I can still laugh at it. :)

  • I would suggest neighbor put up a sign in his yard with a big arrow pointing next door that says:

Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself

Next, build a really big fence.
