HELP: A recent FIREFOX download resulted in losing my INTERNET EXPLORER access. Now, any attempt to access a link from a blog here ends up with the only option being a Vicad listing only that blog it was taken from. Any remedies??????””

MIKE: I agree about FIREFOX. Do you remember when I first heard about it? Was it Kelli Rhea or Cleric who mentioned it? Could another event like that be held without someone bein ' popped in the kisser? Everybody staying congenial?
t3hMalk: It worked once the right TOOLS rabbit trails were followed. All my favorite links on IE weren't available. I just hate not having options. Thanks
May 29, 2009 at 3:13 p.m.If it's what I saw on pilot's test blog posting (if the link says "www.google.com" for instance, and then takes you to "www.victoriaadvocate.com" when you click on it), it looks like the HTML source code is messed up. I'm not sure if the VicAd uses an easy HTML editor or if you really need to know HTML or what, since I haven't started a blog of my own on here yet. Perhaps someone can clarify for me. The tag leads to the VicAd site and the text for the link is what the poster wants it to lead to. If that's the problem in reference to what Rusty was asking. If that's the case, then it's up to CJ and other tech help at the VicAd.
May 29, 2009 at 11:24 a.m.pilot: I'm not arguing with you there! Firefox is my choice of internet browser. WAAAAAY above IE!
I've been having some trouble with it since the latest update, though, where the link I click will sometimes go to some page (kind of like a "page not found" error) and I have to try it again through a link on THAT page. Could be Firefox, my provider, or a combination of both.

May 29, 2009 at 8:35 a.m.Ok, I re-read that and have some how confused myself. At any rate, you might want to check your default browsing program anyway to make sure. I think I need some sleep!
May 28, 2009 at 9:33 p.m.I think what might have happened is that the recent Firefox download made Firefox your default browser. I've been having some "hiccups" with Firefox lately, myself.
To check if Firefox is your default browser, hit the Start Menu button, go to Control Panel, and find Default Programs. In Default Programs, there should be an option to set your default programs and when you select Internet Explorer, it should give you an option to set it as the default program for internet browsing. It might be a little different for XP, as I'm going through the steps on my Vista machine right now, but it should be the same general steps.
