It's never fun getting a cold or sore throat, especially during the summer.
Trust me, it stinks. That's what's going on with me right now.
I have been feeling under the weather since Friday. My throat is raw, my breath is hot and I feel lethargic.
You can blame Faith Reporter Jennifer Preyss for this ol' health reporter's misery. (Kidding! We've had this ongoing joke that she purposely infected me. Haha.)
Anyways, I'm following the rituals that have been instilled in me since I was a kid. I'm having a glass of orange juice once a day. I'm exercising (jogging three miles) every other day. I've had hot chicken noodle soup once a day since Sunday.
It seems to be keeping the cold from going full blown, which is almost worse. It's just there, lingering.
I'd like to know what different at home remedies you grew up with. The ones I follow are pretty common.
Then again, there is the remedy my grandmother used. She used to put a half teaspoon of Vick's Vapor Rub into a warm glass of water with some lemon juice and salt. Then, she would gargle it. Or did she drink it? Well, I guess that's why I stay away from that particular remedy.
So let me know what you do to get over the cold faster, or at least something to keep me feeling good.
