• i wish the thieves in America would do something like that. It save a lot of headaches in insurance claims, police reports, time it takes to repurchase those items, etc.

jose-you may want to check the metal recycling places. i heard a great story about the same item being stolen and recycled a few times. check it out, you might get lucky.

  • Thanks for the kind comments, Jose.

Observer...although I hail from the Victoria area, I am currently located 20,000 miles away.

Archie...I agree. My car was broken into in Houston last year and a great deal of damage done ($600) so they could steal a $90 stereo. Crazy.

  • I strongly suspect that the Victoria Police Department would like to help out with the "negotiations". You should consider contacting them.

  • That was very enlightening! Cultures differ all around the world and your post definately proves it.

Here in Victoria we had a piece of equipment fall off a truck. It was a triangular steel plate with some steel cables and shakles attached. Our driver pulled over to turn around and when he got back the plate and all was gone. A neighbor of our driver was nearby and saw a pick-up stop, two guys got out, and loaded up the equipment. I've scanned the lost and found but seen nothing yet. I'm pretty sure we'll never see that lifting device again.

It was a pretty expensive piece. If those two would condsider that a reward might exist, then maybe,,,

Thanks to great bloggers like you I learn something new each day! Thanx again! Keep up the great work!
