We received an e-mail Friday that brightened my day:
"I just wanted to thank you for your "Reader Submitted Articles" Section. I was able to post the information about my book, and have been able to reach some people that I would not have been able to otherwise reach. I wrote my book to help others, and you have given me a chance to do that with this section. Thank you so very much. God Bless."
The writer was referring to this post. We hope this feature catches on with others. We will use the best submissions as leads for our print edition.

In terms of anonymity, you can set up any e-mail account you want. Depending upon how you do that, it would be difficult to ascertain your identity. I'm no expert on this, but that's what I would suggest.
October 20, 2007 at 7:53 p.m.In terms of being notified when people comment on your blog, our system is set up to send e-mail advisories. I'm not sure whether we have the capability to do what you'd like, but I'll check into that.
I have a question...there are 2 problems I would like to address about the new adovocate site....
October 20, 2007 at 7:34 p.m.I do not feel that I have complete anonymity on this site, this is due to the fact that while I enjoy having a profile where people can read about me, this opens me up to people being able to send me messages which inevitably go straight to my email...this gives me THEIR email and if I want to respond they will get MY email. Ultimately there is an exchange of IP addresses which can be traced back to the user. This I do not like.
Second, the little box with our profile info off to the right....it is not always there but is only there when you are in certain sections of the site. In most sites that allow you to have personal profiles, your little "profile manager box", or whatever it's technical name is, will usually alert you to new message, comments and guestbook comments...I NEVER know when I get these! I do not often check the email that I used to register. I do not like that we have to be so dependant on the email that we registered with. When I log in, I want something telling me, YOU HAVE FRIEND REQUESTS, YOU HAVE NEW MESSAGES, YOU HAVE NEW BLOG COMMENTS. ETC, ETC, ETC...
Do you see what I mean? Is there a way this could be addressed?
