• I heard from the city about why the court was removed. A parks official told me Bankshot was installed about 10 years ago. Since being installed, the courts were lightly used by heavily vandalized, he said. It costs more than $1,000 to repair a backboard, depending on the size and shape complexity. The city decided this year to remove the court rather than keep repairing the backboards.
    Based on the lack of response to my post, I can't say the city made a wrong decision. It's a pity, though, that vandals ruin things for everyone. Consider the positive spirit of the rabbi who invented the game vs. the reality of what happened to his game in Victoria.

  • I guess no¬†other online reader misses the BankShot court at Riverside. I still plan to find out what happened to it.
