• Hey Chris, what about that little line in Steve Miller's "Living in the U.S.A." where he says, "somebody get me a CHEESEBURGER". Small but memorable!

  • Your parents are cool, but I still feel old with that reference. :)

As for singing about cheeseburgers, also check out "Here I Am" by Lyle Lovett. That about taps out my knowledge of cheeseburger songs. Anyone remember others?

    Heinz 57 and French-fried potatoes
Big kosher pickle and a cold draft beer
Well good God almighty which way do I steer for my..."

My mom and dad are HUGE Buffett fans; we listened to a lot of his LPs growing up.  My brother and I always thought this was the greatest.  song.  ever.  I mean, who else sang about CHEESEBURGERS.....?  :-)

  • Heh heh I know what you mean about the references, and people not "getting it". That cheeseburger in paradise sounds like a capital idea to me. If we could find that lost shaker of salt, we could be wastin' away again in Margaritaville. After all, what better thing to pass the time during a hurricane? Buffett would be proud.

  • Sugar,

Thanks for catching the Jimmy Buffett reference. The young ones around here just look at me like I'm crazy with my pop-culture references.

I could use a cheeseburger in paradise about now.

  • You know with all those changes in latitudes, changes in attitudes, nothing remains quite the same, Chris. I say Ike doesn't deserve a rose. I rather believe he should just get the thorn bush. BOO IKE!
