Blogs » Your Advocate: an editor's blog » Galveston County Daily News team headed to Victoria

Image Our publisher received an early-morning call from the publisher of the Galveston County Daily News. We're honored to help the News print its Sunday edition.

A team of journalists is en route to the Advocate's offices. We'll get them set up in our newsroom and help in any way we can.

Like the Advocate, the News is a family-owned community newspaper. It is the oldest newspaper in Texas. The Advocate is the second-oldest. They'd certainly help us if roles were reversed.

I was relieved this morning to read new Tweets from News reporter Leigh Jones. I encourage you to follow her at Twitter:

We're starting on our Sunday edition, too, of course. Thankfully, we have little to report. We'll probably concentrate on businesses in the area and on evacuees figuring out when and how to get home. What other story suggestions do you have?

We hope we have all of our carriers back in place to do full home delivery Sunday. I hope you were able to find our special free Ike edition today.
