We've updated the design and put a new twist on emphasizing residents' accomplishments. Check out today's A2 and let us know what you think. Of course, we still get local people's names and faces in the paper in many other ways such as our Ranging Reporters' Street Talk questions and our history column.
Okay Chris. I remember the small (one column wide and 3 to 4" long) insert on the front page with a caricature of a man with his mouth open, as if talking, was in the insert with the bold typed words "Town Talk" adjacent to the man. There were two or so people's name mentioned each time with no more than a sentence or two explaining something about them, e.g... Joe Blow and his family returning from their trip to visit the island of Hawaii or Susie Sister enjoying her breakfast while taking the time to give the ranging reporter her take on the plain vanilla names assigned to the two new Victoria high schools... etc. Kinda like a little gossip or name dropping arftcle that was specific for Victoria residents or a small version, but present day, of the 25, 50, 75, 100 year article.
