I have the honor of serving on the board of directors of the Freedom of Information Foundation of Texas. I'll be attending my first annual board retreat Wednesday and Thursday in Austin.

As you'll see from the foundation's Web site, the mission is to protect the freedom of information for all, not just journalists. Our editorial today on the Free Flow of Information Act tried to make this same point. If you have stories to share about being denied access to information or about how you successfully obtained material you sought, please let me know.

I hope to advocate for everyone during my time on the board. During the retreat, I also will try to post updates on Twitter to keep you posted. Those updates also will appear at the top of this post if you refresh your screen.

See you back in the office Friday.
