The obvious answer: when it doesn't work.
We're replacing our 10-year-old sports agate software and experiencing some growing pains in the process. The problems caused us to have some errors in last week's prep football boxscores and led us to not have any boxes in Saturday's edition.
We regrouped to get the boxscores in Sunday's edition. Even without the boxscores, our sports staff hustled to get summaries from 15 Crossroads games and extended features from three more for Saturday readers. They also provided live updates from those three games.
We hope to have the key technical difficulties worked out next week and continue to expand our coverage of high school football. Thank you for your understanding. Hope your team won.

I believe everyone using computers today can relate to your problem. We have seen software and hardware become obsolete, requiring movement of stored data and files. Often in the process something we wanted to keep is deleted and not recoverable.
