  • Ok, I have thought about this, since you posted it and I commented. If others don't understand, the PRESS pushes for changes that are so very good for Americans. I am not breaking my arm patting you (Chris) on the back, But I love to see an editor just say "It is public record, let me have the data so I can print it". Wonderful - and thanks to you and your counterparts through out your industry.

  • I agree with you, Tophat. The AG's office and the Legislature need to put teeth into the Public Information Act. Madison Award winner Joe Larsen gave an excellent speech on this at the luncheon. I'll see whether he'll share a copy with the Advocate.

Re Facebook, LOL. Glad you enjoy the posts there. We do seem to be finding another way to connect with readers there. A few friends drop off here and there, so others can still request to join the fun, and I'll add them as Facebook allows. Not sure why Big Brother feels compelled to limit our friends.

In the meantime, our Victoria Advocate page on Facebook is still growing and available for others to join.

  • Simply happy I got invited to your Facebook, before it was filled.
To the issue at hand, whether it is a phone call, email, or smoke signals, public transparency is the key point, and one (I hope) the AG drove a sticking point into it for all officials.
