  • I guess I missed it completely. I was on the Advocate website quite a few times Thursday and Friday and didn't see it. Glad it was there and even more pleased to have bookmarked the calendar. Thanks!!

  • I have to say I got a big kick out of the little boy sitting next to us who yelled with delight at every passing entry. He reminded us of the magical thinking kids bring to this world.

At one point, he screamed, "A candy!" We laughed and didn't correct him when we realized he was looking at the blood bank's life-size drop of blood. It did look like a big Hershey kiss.

Slart, I hope you saw the regular columns by Doug Cochran of the parks and rec department in advance of the parade and the big feature we published on Thursday listing all of the entries. Of course, the best way to keep up with Crossroads upcoming events is our online calendar, which also appears on A3 in print:

  • My favorite part was the advocate's advertisement of it the days leading up to it so that everyone knew when it was.

  • Mine was the Sonic Restaurant's float. Mmm! A float on a float!

  • My favorite was the Crossroads Pet Rescue.
