The DeWitt County Shutterbugs is accepting entries to its 2013 Annual Photography Contest/Exhibition.
The submission dates are March 1-28.
More than $1,000 in prize money will be awarded in both the adult and youth divisions.
In the adult division there are seven categories: architecture, animals/fauna, flowers/plants, landscapes/scenic, miscellaneous, portraits/people and special effects (digital or film).
First place in each category will receive $50, second place will receive $40, and third place will receive $30.
A special wildflower category features a $75 award, and best in show has a prize of $100.
Adults will be charged a $5 entry fee per photo with no limit of entries.
The youth division is open to students in eighth grade or lower and has one general category. First in youth wins $30, second wins $20, and third wins $10. The youth entry fee is $3 per entry.
On April 6, a panel of three judges will select winning photographs based on technical merit and artistic impression. The highest scoring photos in each category will be exhibited.
About 250 photos are displayed from the several hundred submitted to the contest.
The exhibition will take place at the Cuero Municipal Library in Cuero. Photos will be on display April 8-May 2 from 8:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Monday-Friday and 9 a.m.-noon Saturday.
