Hunting Dogs

Capt. Terry Gallagher gives directions to Lou while working on a retrieve exercise in the backyard of his home in Wharton.

A well-trained hunting dog is the workhorse of any hunt and the hunter’s best friend. Capt. Terry Gallagher learned to train dogs as he studied the practice, making notes of what worked and what didn’t. He has built a strong reputation for being a talented trainer. Gallagher’s story and tips for picking a good hunting dog is one of the many stories you will find in the premier edition of Discover 361, the Victoria Advocate’s new lifestyle magazine. It will arrive on the doorsteps of our home delivery customers Sunday.

Copies of the magazine will also be available at the Victoria Advocate office, 101 W. Goodwin Ave, Ste. 1200, and on stands in many places throughout the Crossroads including El Campo Chamber of Commerce, United Ag in Edna and El Campo, Texas Traditions Grill and Bar in Port Lavaca, Bay Flats Lodge in Seadrift, Atzenhoffer dealerships, Explore Victoria Visitors Center, Yoakum Area Chamber of Commerce, Best Little Gun Shop in Texas in Goliad, Foster Creek Station in Victoria, Vela Farms in Victoria, GM’s Fire BBQ, and Dorothy O’Connor Pet Adoption Center.
