Last night, I called to order my last meeting as Chair of the Victoria County Republican Party.
I congratulate our new Chairman CWO Bill Pozzi (Retired Navy Seal) and Secretary Lt. Col. Vanessa Hicks-Callaway (US Army Ret.) on their elections. They have both demonstrated their heart for our nation in a lifetime of service — that continues to the benefit of our community.
For the last seven years, it has been a joy and a privilege to serve. As I discussed in my last article, I am as committed to service as ever. Thank you to all the volunteers and donors who were a part of our efforts these last years.
Here is the letter I recently submitted to the Victoria County Republican Party:
April 17, 2017
Friends of the VictoriaGOP,
The intent of our Republic has always been for citizens to share in the responsibility, burden and joy of service. This was my understanding as I ran for office and was elected to serve as the Victoria Republican County Chair seven years ago. Taking the baton from my predecessor, I was grateful for those who had gone before — mindful of the work ahead — and knowing that one day the time would come to pass the torch to someone who would continue to build on what we had done.
After seven years of volunteer service — effective May 1st, I have decided to step down as the Victoria County Republican Chair. I do so humbled by the confidence you’ve shown in electing me 4 times to this post. I am grateful for the volunteer team members and donors who have supported our efforts together. We have accomplished what I set out to accomplish in my initial campaign. I am proud to have been able to be a part of our achievements.
But the work is not done…
The work of a citizen in a nation “of the People” is never done. I look forward to continuing my volunteer service to our 21-county area as your SREC Committeeman. I have also started a PAC (Political Action Committee) focused on strategic efforts to engage citizens in making a difference. I am excited about what the future holds as we continue to work toward a ‘’more perfect union”, with Texas standing strong as an example to our nation.
I’d encourage you to continue to support the VictoriaGOP and its new leadership as we move forward. You will accomplish great things together as you continue to advance the unifying conservative principles upon which our nation was founded.
I look forward to all that is developing in this new chapter. My family and I welcome your prayers as we look toward what’s next.
