Could Hideaki Itsuno be teasing us with the possible announcement of a new "Devil May Cry" game?

It's too early to tell now, although, according to his original timeline, we would have known at the end of 2017.

Itsuno took to Twitter on New Year's Eve, apologizing for not being able to present the anticipated new project that the Capcom director has been working on.

Itsuno, who also created "Dragon's Dogma" along with "Devil May Cry 2, 3 and 4" seems to be very apologetic for the delay, so for me, that means it could be something related to "Devil May Cry."

Why else would he be as apologetic and excited?

The last installment of the series was "DmC: Devil May Cry" in 2013 for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC. That game, created by Ninja Theory, is not related to event from the first three "Devil May Cry" games.

I'd gladly take a new "Devil May Cry" installment. What are your thoughts? What do you think Itsuno will announce hopefully in the coming months? People are sounding off on social media with theories.
