A doctor will discuss how to prevent becoming infected with flesh eating bacteria at this month's Lavaca Bay Foundation meeting.

Dr. Paul Bunnell will share what he's learned about recognizing vibrio vulnificus, the treatment of it and who is most at risk.

Bunnell is a hospitalist at Memorial Medical Center and the medical director of EMS in Port Lavaca.

The Foundation is a nonprofit that has been researching the health of the bay. In July, Jim Blackburn spoke about environmental advocacy projects.
