Mr. and Mrs. O.F. Jones III recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with a family reunion and trip, with their children, grandchildren, and great-grandson, to the Pointe Royal Golf Resort in Branson, Missouri, hosted by Nanne and "Dink". A wonderful time was had.The couple married on June 23, 1956 at First Baptist Church in Amarillo.Children of the couple are Christopher Wallace Jones of Liberty Hill, James Britton "Britt" Jones of Monument, CO., Patrick O'Keefe Jones of Chattanooga, TN., and Claudia Costa of Kansas City, MO.; grandchildren include Joshua Jones, Meaghan Jones (deceased), Brittony Jones, Kellee Jones, Jacob Jones, Seth Jones, Kaytee Jones, Desi Carder, and Colyn Jones.Dink was born in Cuero and grew up in Waco, graduating from Texas U. Law School in 1956, and moved to Victoria in 1964. He was very active in Rotary Club, Bar Association, serving on the Texas Junior Bar Board and ran for its President in 1965, and the State Bar Board for which he ran for President in 1976. He is a licensed pilot, member of the National Lawyer Pilots Bar Association. He has served on the boards of many local organizations and served as vestry of St. Francis Episcopal Church. He is an avid skier and golfer, loves Colorado and traveling.Nanne grew up in Amarillo, graduated from Amarillo High School in 1955, and attended Baylor U. as a music major. She transferred to Texas U. in 1955, after meeting Dink. She graduated in 1956 with a Fine Arts Degree, married that June, and moved to Waco for the next 8 years. She participated in church and other community activities, sang in the choir, the Jr. League Follies, and after moving to Victoria sang with the Bach Festival and the Madrigal Dinners.The couple met on a college tour to Europe in 1954- and romanced all over Europe. They became engaged in Austin, while at Texas University. They love their place in Colorado, and traveling together.
