Daylon and Eyvon Magnia celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary with a dinner and reception hosted by family on July 30 at the American Legion Hall.The late Rev. Roy Mathison, of Victoria, married Daylon Magnia and Eyvon Gamblin July 29, 1966 at Calvary Baptist Church.Children are Michael of Dallas, Jeffrey of Victoria, and David (Heather) Magnia of Bella Vista, Arkansas. Grandchildren are Zachary, Kaleigh, Abigail, Rebecca, and Joshua Magnia. Special guests included Betty Imes, Eyvon's aunt, and Patsy Steffek, Eyvon's high school friend. Another special guest, Gary Moses, forever a family friend, attended with numerous other treasured family members and friends.Eyvon's original wedding dress was re-designed into a blouse by Gail Henrichs. Christi Magnia was the DJ, playing many of the couples' favorite songs.Eyvon is a graduate of VHS, was a stay-at-home mom, and held various volunteer positions, retiring from VISD after 20 years of volunteer work. She is presently Treasurer at First Baptist Church.Daylon retired from Exxon/Mobil after 30 years. He worked 40 years in the oilfield drilling business locally and overseas.
