Adrienne Michelle Giddens and Cody Robert Schendel, both of Corpus Christi, were married at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 29, 2017, at Jellyfish Restaurant, Bavaro Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. Jehison Cabrera Guerrero, Bavaro, La Altagracia, Dominican Republic, officiated the double-ring ceremony.The bride is the daughter of Gunnar and Jennifer Giddens of Abilene. She is the granddaughter of Ann Giddens of Abilene and Michael Templeton of Abilene.The groom is the son of Robert and Norma Schendel of Yorktown. He is the grandson of Justyne Mixon Cox of New Braunfels and the late James Cox, Clydelle Jacob Schroeder of Yorktown and the late Arlon "Shrimp" Schroeder, and the late C.F. "Dick" Schendel and the late Ellie Sucher Schendel.Rachel Ann Giddens of Abilene (sister of the bride), attended as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Haley Potcinske, of Corpus Christi, Claire Schendel Carpenter (sister of the groom), of Chapel Hill, NC, Baylee Ivy, of Victoria, Amanda Carrier, of New Braunfels, and Ashley Reid, of San Antonio.Bronson Buzzard, of Big Spring, served as best man. Groomsmen were Caleb Schendel (brother of the groom), of Waco, Kalvin Corpus, of Yorktown, Shelton Carpenter (brother-in-law of the groom), of Chapel Hill, NC, Barrett Audilet, of Austin, and Colton Buzzard, of San Angelo.A reception was held at Jellyfish Restaurant, Bavaro Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.After a wedding trip to Santorini and Mykonos, Greece, the couple will reside in Corpus Christi.Adrienne graduated from Abilene Cooper High School in 2012 and earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Texas A&M University Corpus Christi on May 13, 2017.Cody graduated from Yorktown High School in 2008 and earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from Texas A&M University Corpus Christi on May 17, 2014. He is currently a teacher and coach at Mary Carroll High School in Corpus Christi.
