Meals on Wheels Victoria will partner with H-E-B to deliver 1,000 holiday meals to homebound people in Victoria and Cuero on Dec. 17.

The meal distribution is part of H-E-B’s annual Feast of Sharing, which will provide more than 340,000 meals to hunger relief organizations and food banks across Texas and Mexico.

This is Meals on Wheels Victoria’s second year participating in the program, following a groundswell of participation from community groups and individuals to deliver last year’s feast.

This year, the Feast of Sharing will not include the traditional in-person dinner events, but Meals on Wheels will deliver both to current clients and additional homebound residents.

To receive a meal, you can sign up by contacting Meals on Wheels Victoria by phone at 361-576-2189, email at info@mowvictoria.org or online at mowvictoria.org. Meals are free, courtesy of H-E-B.

The event will require a number of volunteers to happen smoothly and successfully. Those interested can volunteer to deliver meals. Pickup starts are staggered at 11 a.m., noon and 1 p.m. To sign up contact Meals on Wheels Victoria by phone at 361-576-2189, email at info@mowvictoria.org or online at mowvictoria.org.
