A 41-year-old Bay City man was killed in a one-vehicle wreck Tuesday night near Bay City.

Joe Glenn Davis was driving his 2005 Ford F-350 south on state Highway 60 about 3.8 miles south of Bay City when he went into a ditch. He overcorrected, crossed the highway and went into a group of trees, a dispatcher with the Texas Department of Public Safety's Pierce office said Wednesday.

Weather may have played a factor, as it was cloudy, and the road was wet, the dispatcher said, citing the trooper's report.

Davis died at the scene about 11:15 p.m. and was the only person involved in the wreck.

The wreck remained under investigation by Trooper Louis Fojtik.
