The 14th annual Cinco de Mayo celebration will be Saturday at the Railroad Park in Palacios.

The event is a fundraiser for the Boys & Girls Club of Palacios, benefiting the organization's summer programs.

Events include the Colorful 5K by the Bay at 8 a.m., barbecue cook-offs in brisket, sausage, fajita, pork ribs and beans.

Trophies will be awarded for the top three entries in each category. Showmanship awards will be given to the top two in each category.

There will also be arts, crafts and food booths open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Brisket plates will be available for $8 from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Other activities include the 2 p.m. dog races, a golf tournament and an inflatable carnival from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Bracelets for the carnival are $5 for unlimited time.
