OakBend Medical Center opened in Wharton on Monday.
Within its first 24 hours of being open, the emergency room saw 21 patients, according to a news release from OakBend Medical Center. The Wharton hospital campus, 10141 U.S. 59, opened with services including OakBend’s “no-wait emergency room” with air ambulance support, including X-ray, CT and ultrasound, endoscopy services, day surgery and inpatient floor.
“On behalf of the board and the staff, we are thrilled to be a part of this community and are excited to see this relationship come to fruition,” said Abby King, OakBend Medical Center board member and Wharton resident.
OakBend Medical Center CEO Joe Freudenberger added, “The message I would deliver to this community is that we are here to serve, and we look forward to a long relationship.”
