Owner-dog selfies: Trooper

One year ago on June 30, my husband and I walked into PetSmart (just to pet the cute puppies). God had other plans. Little did we know that a sweet pup named Trooper would choose us to be his fur-ever family. When we first saw Trooper, he was missing patches of fur and had many scars. He was cautious and fearful of other people. As I sat on the floor, Trooper literally jumped into my arms and allowed me to pet him. I knew at that moment, he was going home with my family. Trooper was in a brutal dog attack before we adopted him. When he was found, everyone was fearful that he would not survive the terrible injuries sustained. Thankfully, through generous donations, a rescue group and skilled veterinarians, Trooper survived. Today, we celebrate Trooper and his amazing recovery. He is less fearful of people, travels to new adventures and enjoys chasing squirrels in our backyard.
