Two Victoria police K-9s have reveived bullet and stab protective vests through a nonprofit fundraiser.
Vested Interest in K-9s provided vests for Victoria Police Department K-9s Maverick and Rogue, according to a news release issued by city officials Tuesday.
The vests are embroidered with “In memory of the (K-9s) who served and sacrificed in 2022.”
Vested Interest was established in 2009 and is a nonprofit charity with the mission of providing bullet and stab protective vests and other assistance to dogs of law enforcement and other agencies.
Since its creation, the nonprofit has provided more than 5,000 vests to K-9s at a value of $6.9 million.
Vested Interest accepts contributions of any amount. A donation of $985 can sponsor one vest, which have a value of $1,800.
