U.S. Highway 77 was temporarily closed to traffic Tuesday morning as troopers with the Department of Public Safety conducted an investigation into a multi-vehicle fatality last Thursday. Gerald Bryant, DPS spokesperson, described the process of plotting GPS, or Global-positioning System, as necessary to preserve evidence in case the Texas Department of Transportation reconstructs the highway. More than 400 plots were recorded due to the fact that four vehicles were involved in the wreck – three of which made contact. One person was killed and three people were injured. The state transportation department set up barricades, but at least one curious person maneuvered through the barricades and was issued a citation.
