Stabbing led to shooting

Police believe a Wednesday night shooting had gang ties and was directly linked to a night-club stabbing Saturday.
Vincent Rosales, 33, of Yoakum, remains in the Citizens Medical Center's intensive care unit after he was shot three times outside his girlfriend's apartment at 9:15 p.m.
Rosales works at Mi Cosina Restaurant and Acapulco Night Club, at 3107 S. Laurent St., Police Chief Bruce Ure said. Three men were injured during a fight there Saturday.
Luz Hernandez, 34, from Houston remains hospitalized after he was stabbed during the fight. Calletano Hernandez, 31, from Houston and Octavio Olivares, 31, from Victoria had minor injuries, Ure said.
The shooting was "directly related to the stabbing incident, in the form of retaliation," Chief Bruce Ure said. "We strongly believe both incidents are gang related."
Earlier this week, police interviewed Rosales and several other people who were at the club during the fracas, Ure said.
"Our victims were very uncooperative," he said. So far, there are no suspects in either crime, he said.
"I need somebody to come forward," Ure said. "People out there know what happened."
