The family moved to Bay City in 1969. She graduated from Bay City High School in 1974, attended Conlee’s College of Cosmetology and earned her State Beautician’s License. She loved her work and really loved people. She often volunteered to teach cradle roll and young VBS students at the Church of Christ.
