The Victoria College has been awarded a $150,000 grant from the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission.

Grant funds will be used to establish a Nuclear Education Scholarship program in order to expand and improve the educational opportunities and career prospects for nuclear education program students.

Participants will benefit from an array of services, including academic advisement and monitoring, mentoring, tutoring, supplemental instruction, career counseling and job placement assistance.

A minimum of 15 scholarships of up to $5,000 each will be awarded to qualifying students during the first semester of the program.

Scholarship awards will either be renewed based on continued eligibility or additional scholarships will be awarded for a second semester. Students will receive scholarships based on academic merit and potential, with consideration given to financial need and the goal of promoting the participation of minorities, women and persons with disabilities.
